69 front on 68

i just got a 68 vert and can deal with the rear end but the front end to me is not as attractive as the 69-72. What are the odds of putting a 69 front clip on or being able to keep fenders and buying new grill lights and hood?

I'm thinking you would have to change everything forward of the doors...the fenders between '68 and '69 are slightly different due to a change in hood hinges...the core support is different and it might require some manipulation to install it. At one time I thought the same thing...only backwards...that I wanted to put '68 doors and a '68 front end on a '69...just to much alteration!

^^^This. It is a total bolt-on, but you need a complete 1969 nose from the firewall forward. EVERYTHING is different, including the wire harness.

Why did you get a 68 if you don't like the looks?

Dunno

I guess I initially bought it because t was such a low mile original. But the more I think about it the less I like it. I'm a fan of the seats with head rests, the oai hood, plus this is very woth no ac....so in hindsight I think I should have held off and purchased what I really want. Maybe eBay is in my future....

And now you want to spend more money to make it NOT original...

You might want to rethink this.

You would have to buy all the parts, replace what is bad, paint it all to match. Can you make a profit on it as it sits and go for something else?

I really don't give a rat's patootie what you do, but I love watching people waste their money buying something then throw good money after bad. Have fun.
