67 442 passenger quater panel

Ok so i knew that my rt rear quater had been damaged at least twice. I ground off all the paint yesterday, it looks like 3 layers of paint. And a ton of bondo! Top and sides. The fender is about 1/2 inch low compared to the trunk lid, not sure how to raise it, and the end down by the bumper is damaged beyond repair. Ill have to cut it off including the taillight housing and replace it. Who ever did the repair actually did a decent job considering how much bondo they used. Almost 3/8 of an inch thick in alot of areas. And there wasnt a single crack in any of it. So im thinking a new quarter would be the best repair. I can see the frame is slightly tweeked just behind the rearend. Its the straight leg that goes beside the gas tank to the bumper. It should bend back straight with no problem. I will have it put on a frame machine to determine straightness. The car actually sits very straight and all the body lines line up very well, except for the fender to trunk on the passenger side.
So how much should i expect to pay for a good quarter and does anyone here have one or know who might? Im in Texas, so the more local the better for shipping.
Thanks
Steve

I'll look my cars over if you'll pick it up in Austin. Will not send to LA!

There is a nos one on ebay that isnt selling and he is asking 1900.00 I would say a decent cut off should run about 750 or so...just a guess. Shipping would be an issue though on a large item like a full quarter.

Took a look yesterday and have two extra clean 66 Cutlass rh quarters to which I could provide tail light pockets from a 67. Have a 67 442 that was restored in the early '90's and had complete GM quarter installed. Also a 67 Cutlass in "acceptable condition".

Henry,

I hope this is not considered hijacking this thread, but I am in need of a Trunk Torsion Bar Spring for my 1967 Cutlass H.C. I also need a trim piece for the Rear Wheel opening to lower trim piece. Something Oldsmaniac posted a pic of on another thread. I need to go thru my chrome pieces to see which side.

Can you help?

I also can provide a right quarter. Shipping runs about $200 and prices are as previously quoted by others.

Thanks
