1972 Cutlass Supreme rusty roof

Hello everyone

I am in need of a little advice I saved this car from being parted out and decided to try and bring it back to life. The roof skin is rusty/gone and I have been looking for a Replacement cutlass Supreme roof skin but having no luck finding one. After doing some research online I found out that the 70-72 Monte Carlo has the same roof part # as the cutlass Supreme.

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

You're probably gonna have to find a donor car to get that part. Where are you located?

I was looking at AMD roof skin and they say 68-72 Chevelle & GM A-Body Fastback Roof Panel (Modify for M.Carlo Cutlass Supreme)

I just don't know how much modifying is required to get it to work.

It is a completely different roof and I don't think you could ever get it to work. You should be able to find one from a donor car. As you mentioned they are the same from 70-72. I am not sure about the Monte Carlo. I bet you don't put a vinyl roof back on it do you.

What's your location? If you can pick one up in Austin, Tx I have around 20+ 70-72 Cutlass Supremes and MonteCarlos here for parts. Should be at least a couple of them that never had vinyl tops installed. About 200.00 for cut off top section.

DVAP (Desert Valley Auto Parts) should have what you need. Shipping shouldn't be TOO bad to Texas.

One word: Giantfoldingfabricsunroof, ala early VW. Heck, the 72 Buicks had them.
