1970 Cutlass convertible inner quarter panel

Hello everyone.
I am in the middle of a complete restoration on my 1970 Cutlass convertible and am looking for some help. I am trying to find what I think is called the inner quarter panel. This is the inner structure that runs from the wheel well to the door jam and attaches to the floor/rocker panel. I need a small portion of it for both sides. I imagine this is a common part to rust out on these convertibles. It should be the same for all A-body convertibles. I included a picture to better show what I am looking for. If anyone has this part or has any information where to find it, please let me know. Thanks for the help!

I hope you find what you need, I am on the fence of throwing in the towel based on needing the same repair on my 70 cutlass vert.
Floor pans, Trunk pans, and then some. for me.

Thanks for responding. I did see that part from Dynacorn but only need a small patch from the bottom so I will try to make it before I pay that much. Don't give up. I bought my cutlass thinking I was going to patch the quarters and paint it. So far I have into it an entire floor, entire trunk, both sets of rear wheel wells, both rockers, and lower door patches. I used to be a mechanic, never a body man. After drinking a lot of beer and staring at the car for hours, I dove in. So far, things seem to be getting better. Let me know if you have any other questions about your build. Chances are I probably have the same issues. I will post a picture of that inner panel if I end up making it. Hang in there!

'72 Convertible Inner Quarter Repair

I had similar rust issues in this spot. Luckily, there is a local restoration supplier near me that had a convertible parts car in their small classics junk yard so I was able to cut out the inner panel to make a patch for my rusty metal. In hindsight, the metal is pretty straight in this area, I probably could have made my own patch without cutting up the parts car. I removed the large brace so I could get better access to the inner panel. Here's some pics of my work, maybe this will help you visualize where to cut or how to do the patch.

Rusty inner quarter with brace removed.

This is the metal I harvested from the parts car.

This is the test fit before tacking into place with the MIG welder.

Hi Rodney, thanks for the post. More than likely I will probably go that route and make the part. Thanks for the pictures, that helps. I will post a picture if I end up making it.

Hi there, I went to look into ordering the inner quarter panels for my Cutlass convert but it seems to be Chevelle specific, it sure looks like it could be made to work for the Olds….what do you think?

Help

Hello everyone, I’m in the same predicament with the rust in this area. I have a 72 chevelle heavy chevy , but it’s all the same behind there . I’m almost positive, except for maybe mine being a hardtop. Anyways , it would help me so much if someone out there had the left and right side cut out of a doner car that is cut out or can cut it out and sell it to me. I’m just wondering if someone could help . Thanks
