1/4 panel extension gaskets 🤔

I bought a set of 1/4 panel extension gaskets for my '72 Supreme and when I attempted to install them, I noticed that the extension won't come off unless I lower the rear bumper...is that correct, or is there an easier way?

Did you try removing the rubber filler between bumper and the extension first ?

Nope...that's a job in itself. I remember putting those on,, and it wasn't that bad, but the bumper was about 1/2" lower than it is now.

I say NO, You DO NOT have to remove the bumper! If you remove the rubber bumper filler at the top of the bumper you can remove the quarter extensions, just put a thick tape on the tops of the bumper when re installing, also a good time to install new rubber filler! I have changed out the gaskets and have changed out the curved chromed mouldings on the extension.on a few Supremes.
