I have a 1979 Cutlass

The front end corner cracked and I needed to remove the plastic nut that the headlight door trim screw, screws into to hold it.

To remove this nut I destroyed it. I was hoping to resuse it after the crack fix.

I am wondering how the factory installed these plastic nuts into the front end in the first place.

It almost seems it is a two part nut, Something from the frontand something from the back when the factory was making the front end..

Not quite sure what to do now, are these nuts available new somewhere?? or just put a speed nut in back to screw into.
