1967 442 chrome deck lid t

Hi to all....Is there anyone out there that can give me advice on painting a piece of deck lid chrome molding for a 1967 442 ? I have one that came off of a 1967 cutlass supreme. As many of you are aware of the442 came painted black.

Clean it well and degrease with thinner, tape off top chrome part then spray everything (center and letters) with semi-gloss black. The painted letters can be scraped clean easily after.

Use acetone on a rag using your finger tip to wipe the paint off the letters. Do it when the paint is still tacky. I did my Cutlass rear trim in 2010 and it came out great.
