I'm looking for exterior door handles for my 1957 88 hardtop. Are other GM door handles, such as chevy, pontiac, cadillac, interchangeable?

 

After snooping around on the internet , I can tell you this:
1. Front two door handles are different from front four door handles .
2. Rear door handles are different from front .
3. 1957 and 58 front door handles interchange.
4. 1957 to 60 rear door handles interchange.
5. Both Chevrolet and Pontiac handles will not interchange with Olds.
6. Buick handles MIGHT interchange , since some Buick models share the same body shell with Olds , HOWEVER , I cannot confirm this because I have no Buick parts info.
7. I have no Cadillac parts info.

Has anyone tried using Fusick part # ODH59 - Outside Door Handles for 1959-60 Oldsmobile to replace the rear door handles for a 57 Supper 88? Fusick said they won't work because they are only meant for the front but they look identical to the rear and number 4 in the list from Charlie above says the rear ones from 59-60 should work.

 

I don't know why I said that , ( #4 ) but I was WRONG .

I'm sorry for the confusion ,
Often door handles will look much the same , but the surface which contacts the sheetmetal of the door will have a slightly different contour .
