I bought someones half finished 72 Cutlass S project and im having an issue getting into the truck. the previous owner removed all the lock cylinders to prime the vehicle but then closed the trunk with it jammed full of parts. I cannot release the trunk without the cylinder and I cannot go through behind the back seat with all the parts in the way. Is anyone familiar with how these trunk mechanisms work and have any idea how I can open it without damaging anything?

 

You should be able to take a flat blade screwdriver and open it. Insert screwdriver into lock hole and turn. Good luck.
