Help me with info so I can reply to a guy on Facebook. He said he has an all original 1969 442 with gold hood patches (the wide stripes, not pinstripes). I didn't know if gold was an available factory color for those. Plus, he says they are Firefrost Gold, which i always thought was specific to the Hurst cars.
They weren't firefrost gold. But they did have gold stripes. Back in the 70s when I didn't care so much about which cars had what, I had a black 69 442 4-speed with gold interior. Which went great with my gold, fuzzy Hurst T-handle. It had the W42 wide painted gold hood stripes. Oh, and the single trunk stripe in the same color gold. But they weren't super metallic gold with huge flakes in them like firefrost. It was just regular gold. Actually, I wasn't a fan of the big paint patches because everyone called it a Chevelle. Probably just to **** me off, but then again, I'm not sure. That was nearly 50 years ago!!
