69 Cutlass S hood

This is the hood on my 69 Cutlass S Holiday.

Vin starts with 33697. Have been told I should have the double bump hood with the chrome louvers. Could that hood have been a delete option? Or did the previous owner swap it out?

Unfortunately the gentleman who owned the car before me passed away. He repainted in 2002. Found receipts that he possibly bought a 442 hood and parts in 2006. Reached out to the estate to see if that hood can be located.
Have to assume he repainted the hood that was on the car when he bought it. Either this is the factory hood, or it was replaced.
It does have factory air if that makes a difference. Maybe a gm Canada letter could shed some light.

Your VIN is 33687, not 97. And no, that's not the correct hood for that car. There was no "hump delete option". Check for front end damage and crash repair. The flat hood was used on the F85 line (except with W31), the Supreme line, and all four doors and wagons.

Well that’s depressing. I had checked for any welds, hammer marks, nothing I could make out. Did notice all the bumper mounts were replaced, fresh pieces and new bolts. Every thing looked replaced from the frame ends forward. Front collision makes sense, was owned by original owner 80 y/o in 1997, wonder If she sold it after hitting something. She sold it then for $500, guy whose estate I bought it from paid $2500 in 2002. Have many of his receipts, no bumper or mounts included. He repainted right after buying, then replaced trim and inside pieces circa 2004-2008. Likely interim owner fixed front end.

No problem. Went into this knowing I was lacking any knowledge of these cars. Half the fun is learning. If this is the biggest issue I’ll be happy.
