68 Olds Delmont 88 convertible window sweep/seals

I need this to keep the rain out on the windows for the front doors and back windows. What is the best website for this and what is the proper name of it? I can't find the front and back window seal ( I am referring to the window seal that touches the main windows as they go up and down to keep the water out).

Steele Rubber near Charlotte ought to have something that will work, or I got the stuff for my 76 Ninety Eight from Restoration Specialties. I had to attach the new seals to the original metal backing strips, but that was a reasonably pleasant afternoon's work- till I found out I couldn't get the LR door open! So three doors have new belt seal strips, and one does not...

Keep in mind that other same-years GM B-body cars may use the same part- Impala, Catalina/Bonneville, LeSabre/Wildcat. Steele shows these beltline seals available for for 68 Impala and Bonneville convertibles, outer pieces only. The quarter window seals for Chev-Pontiac MAY be a little different due to quarter-panel styling, but my guess is they're very close. The folks at Steele have always been very helpful.

You'll need basic hand tools and some disassembly is required. Inside door and rear side panels have to come off and sometimes you'll have to drop the window itself a little lower for access. Some of these use screws to attach the rubber seal to the backing strip, others use staples or pop rivets.

If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, any competent body shop or glass shop should be able to do it, or you can try to get Scott Wilborn in Raleigh to install them for you. Trouble is that boy's always backed up with 442 and Cutlass restoration work, but he's good.

Thanks Rocket. By the way, so I order the correct thing, what do you call the weather stripping that runs horizontal on the top of the door that touches or is close to the window so rain does not run down the window into the door panel? I also need it for both front and the rear windows.

There are so many types of weather stripping, not sure I would be ordering what I need.

I get it now "beltline seals". Never heard of them called that before. Thank you!!!

What do you mean you had to get the new rubber on the new metal? Didn't the new rubber come with new metal?

I bought new strips from Fusick. The chrome piece only went to the side mirror, not the whole width of the door
