68 442 trunk emblem help

the trunk emblem holes for the 442 number emblem have been filled in. I can't see them from underneath. Need to find a template. Any help?

I've got a parts car with a damaged trunk lid and no emblems. If I held a tape measure against it and took some pictures would that help? John

If you can stick your finger into one of the larger inside holes to reach where one of the emblem holes should be, you will feel it as the original holes are punched and will leave rough inside edges. Use the emblems to locate the other holes relative to the ones you can feel. At least I was able to do that on a '69 deck lid.

Ben, I'm tinkering with the car stuff today so I went ahead and took some pictures. I also found I can touch the back of the hole closest to the trunk lock by reaching through a hole. So if you can locate one of these holes as Kurt suggested maybe you can find the others with the emblem. I'm attaching a couple photos here, but uploaded several more to my photobucket site.
