68 442 Grill and fender alignment

The whole car was apart for a resto. Putting it back together, everything seems to line up in the front clip except on the sides where the grill and fender filler come together. Can seem to get rid of this angled gap. It was tight/together before

Mine did this. I think the factory 68 driver's fender stamping was lousy. The fender peak trim didn't line up with the door trim on the driver's side either.

With the front lower bolt at the rear of the fender loose, I had to have someone push down hard on the outside of the nose. If I remember correctly this rotated the rearward part of the fender outward slightly. Once it was rotated I snugged the bolt rear of the fender. I seem to remember that I left the font fender brace disconnected at the core support while I did this and didn't attach it until that rear bolt was snug.

FWIW I don't think I had the plastic headlight bucket installed yet when I did this

Hope this helps
