455-350 Engine Swap: AC Delete Plate?

Probably not the right section but I figured an AC Delete plate question could somehow go under the "body" category since it's a plug.

ANYWAY, I'm looking for possibly a cheap AC delete plate for my 1971 Vista Cruiser. Also, would it be cheaper/better to just have one machined out myself? Any suggestions on how I could go about plugging up the evaporator's hole would be much appreciated. Just here to learn, thanks everybody!

You might find them in a junkyard; especially Buicks often had the AC firewall and covers if the car was not ordered with AC; or, make cardboard templates and cut them from sheet metal.

Good idea, there's a local classic GM salvage yard nearby also. Your second suggestion was exactly my plan if I couldn't come across any covers on here or something. Thanks!
