1969 cutlass lug nut stud problem...

hi! i need to know how to take a lug nut stud of my car its the passenger rear.

They are pressed into the axle flange. The dealerships had a special tool that looked like a C-clamp to allow you to remove the stud with the axle shaft in place. You can try using a big C-clamp with a socket on the back to provide clearance for the old stud to be pushed into. Failing that, the axle needs to come out and be put in a press.

If you do get it out without pulling the axle, install the new stud and again use a stack of washers or a section of pipe and pull the new stud into place with the lug nut. Otherwise, just use the press to put the new one in also. Whatever you do, do not just hammer on the axle flange. That's a good way to bend it.
