Exclamation 1959 Rocker Panel Moldings -to be reproduced

Hello,

We were approached by a restoration shop about making the 1959 Oldsmobile Rocker Panel Moldings.

We currently specialize in Ford Rocker Panel moldings.

Is there a demand for 1959 Oldsmobile Rocker Panel Moldings? We're trying to gather information about these cars/moldings.

Any help is appreciated.

What type of market can there possibly be to repop them? 4 people? Would you be reproducing the Super 88 panels? Or Ninety Eight panels? Two different styles of panels for the same year

Agreed, I would love to see them especially for the 98, they are like hens teeth if you need em and very pricey but the need would be extremely low...

Hey buzzkills...don't discourage this - There is so little reproduced for Oldsmobile, if someone is willing to take a stab at it, let them at least see if it can be done within a reasonable price point - since you folks (burtonantiqueautoparts) are already set up to make moldings, I'd imagine the initial cost would be less than if, say, I was to up and decide to do it. I would suggest contacting the Oldsmobile Club of America and getting in touch with the 1959 Model Year advisor and see if that person has a better handle on the demand. Anything in these years is year-specific as well as model-specific but that doesn't mean there aren't people who want them. May not be a 70 442 type demand, but I'm sure there is a demand. Heck, can you guys repop hood lip moldings for '55?

Yes I see your point but I am pretty sure a reality check will produce the demand spoken of. I think we owners of the 59's have a good handle on this as well. The OCA 59 advisor may be a good place to check as well.

If they really want to reproduce something I would love to see clutch and brake pedal pads done for the 65 and 66 up full size Oldsmobiles that have a manual trans. These are sorely needed!! Another would be 64 Cutlass wheel well moldings. The demand for these is great!

I appreciate your insights. It would be the 1959 Model 98. We are working with a 1959 Oldsmobile owner and he is very adamant about getting these done.

We already have other projects that we are trying to finish so it would be awhile before we would work on them.
