Rebuilt engine questions
I own a 1972 cutlass S with a 1965 425" motor in it. The motor needs rebuilding and the carburetor needs replacing as well. Since my intake and headers are fitted to the 425/455 specs, I was looking to find a 455 to install. I was wondering a) would a different motor require me to adjust anything else? E.g. Gear ratio, choice of carb, transmission etc. and b) what's the best route to go for a rebuilt motor to buy? And carb as well. I know actual 455 olds crate motors are very scarce.
The car originally had a 350 in it. 3 Spd auto

hey buddie i believe right now mondello performance has short blocks on sale and the other questions can be answered by them also. check it out and call them very soon like this week. I have a rebuilt engine by them and so far i have had no problems with there package of course it was also built by them as well not piece mealed.
Yes. I've heard good things about their products. It might be out of my price range a bit though for me to buy a newly built engine. I'm not really looking for insane amounts of horsepower. I'd be happy with a near stock engine rebuilt with new parts. It would be a cheaper way to go, and I could always spruce it up later on if I find what I'm looking for or save up the cash.
Thanks for the tip though.
