"notched" valve covers?

Hi, got one more question for you guys. My 455 has the notched valve covers. Ive read online that these were "super rare" and was wondering if this was something rare i should be extra careful to hang onto or if its just another type of valve cover. Ive had offers on them, one guy offered $25. Just kinda wondering what the deal is on them. Thanks guys

If they are in good shape with no dents or dings, they can be worth over $100. I have seen a pair sell for over $150, but that was a few years ago when people thought they still had money.

They only came on Cutlass' and 442's from 68-72 with either a 400 or 455. That's why they are rare.

wow, thats great haha. Yeah i knew they only came on Cutlasses/442s but wasnt sure about their rarety or value. They are in good condition with only a few scrates and some dirt, still have the original paint on them mostly. Guess i got a good deal too cause i bought the entire longblock for $100 haha, come to find out i may have been paying for the valve covers alone and getting the rest for free

thanks for the info, i think im going to decline this offer for $25 haha
