455 into cutlass.

does anybody know if i can bolt in a 68 455 from a delta into my 67 cutlass that used to have a 400 in it? do i need to do any modifing? both engins have the auto 400 tanny.thanks.

The 400 and 455 are externally identical. Use the motor mounts, exhaust manifolds, water pump, brackets, and pulleys from the 400. Use the flexplate from the 455 as the 64-67 motors use a different crankshaft bolt pattern than do the 68-90 motors. You can either install the 67 intake and carb if you care about looks or use the 68 intake and carb.

thanks a bunch, i plan on rebuilding the 455 cause i spun the rodbearings. i wasn't sure as to whether the motor mounts would line up, i will be using a stock exhaust manifold also, i just didnt wanna go through all that work then run into mounting issues, thanks again.
