Hooker Headers in "73 S big block?

Does someone have real life experience with hooker headers fitting in a '73 "S" big block without cutting or modifying the tubes? or more? The suppliers all list the years and models and tell you they work, but I have heard from many sources they don't really fit. Hookers are preferred, but I would love to bolt them on and go. I hear the 1-3/4" tube units will work? Not a race car, just a stealth street cruiser.

Thanks Joe, but I'm set on headers. Any recent pics of Rusty? It was getting close last set I saw.

Headers

You might look at Dougs Headers, They are better built than most I have seen. We have used a lot of them on motorhomes, 454 chev and 460 Ford. This is a very demanding application and they held up very well. I particularly like their header flanges, 3/8 thick and they don't leak. Usually fit and finish is good to. Dave
