Pontiac 455 in an Oldsmobile

Total novice question: Will a 70's pontiac 455 and TH400 transmission bolt up to a 73 olds cutlass?

It would be much easier to put an Oldsmobile 455 into it. I know that your answer will be that you already have a good running Pontiac engine and that is why you are asking but it will still be easier. Besides the engine mounts not fitting, you will have to deal with trying to match up the wiring harness of the car to the engine, which it will not. If you can do your own wiring that will not be much trouble to you but if you cannot......

It will, but why?

1973 A-body Pontiacs could have 455/T400, so it would not be difficult to do this swap. Pontiac wiring is not that much different from Olds either.

But again, why? Hay, at least it ain't another SBC into Olds question!

Different year Poncho blocks have different mounting holes. Just be sure the brackets on the frame and block, and the mounts are compatible year-wise.

Of course, I am very disappointed that you would even consider putting an engine from the hated stepsister into your sacred Oldsmobile lol.
