Hello, I have a 71 Cutlass 455 4bbl rochester Quadrajet, Turbo 400 AT, stock rebuild.

I recently bought a new fan the old fan was only 16 in cric. The new one is supposed to be the old OEM fan, to cool the motor, This one uses a clutch.

I am looking to buy a hayden fan clutch, Any suggestions, Good brand?
I heard they are heavy duty and will last.

My next issue is do I get Thermal or Non-thermal fan clutch?
Can any one tell me which is better?

NAPA has the thermal fan clutch for about $40. (it's made by Hayden) Since I have a 455 with A/C and live in a hot climate, I went for the thermal set-up.
I'm also running a stock 6 blade fan which measures 19 1/2" in diameter.

 

I picked up a hayden Thermal fan clutch 2705, $33 bucks.
Going to install it this weekend.
