Got a question for you ball park what is a black 1957 88 j-2 numbers match,no rust, lowered, new chrome, disk brakes and sound system worth. Top end freshened on motor.
Sweet looking ride.

Hard to say in this market it all depends on the quality of the work done on the car. I have seen good ones go anywere from 13k to 35k which is a huge spread.

Your engine looks great.

I see that you have a screw in adapter for the oil filter; also I like the air cleaner. I've seen those before and am wondering where you got yours? The air filter I have on my J2 is an 18 1/2" round.

Hey Dan,
Lf you go online and type in oil filter adapter for 57 olds you will come up with it after a little work, just work the pages. The batwing air filter was produced in 57 for the j-2 motor. Very rare item this one has the original decals.
Your transmission is it the 57 jet-away,how does it perform?

Hi Ray,
I do have the Jetaway transmission and it is tight - works great. I was really fortunate to have bought my 57 Olds (just 3 months ago) from a car enthusiast and master mechanic who kept everything in the engine compartment in top form. I need to learn more about it. Especially how to adjust all three carbs so they stay in good shape and work as they should. I have the Supplemental J2 Shop Catalog that will help. The carbs still are working fine, but don't know for how long. I understand through what I've read that they go out of adjustment periodically. Have you had any experiences with that?

Dan

PS I'll take a look on line for the oil filter adapter - thanks.
