Parts brand recommendation

Hi guys,

What parts brand do you recommend for a 1968 445 cid 2bbl engine? I want to do some engine maintenance especially the ignition parts.
Will not be easy to get the right parts here overseas.
I'm thinking AC Delco but not sure if these are good parts?

Thanks!

Erik

I have always used AC Delco parts on GM engines.

Most AC Delco parts are now made in Mexico or China. Go to ebay and get the older made in the USA stuff. The points (#1931988) will be in a foil wrapped silver, black and orange package. The condenser is part #1932004. You might pay a little more but they are worth it. You can also get the uniset where the points and condenser are one unit but I don't know the number of it.

I want to buy it at Rock Auto and let it ship to Europe where I live. The shipping costs will propably be higher then the parts costs ;-)

Glenn - Did you mean to say "Most AC Delco parts are "now" made in Mexico or China" as opposed to "not" made in Mexico or China? Point of clarification - I believe that's what you meant to say which makes more sense?

Standard or Blue Streak ignition parts is what I use mostly.

Thank Norm. That was exactly what I meant and I have corrected it. I haven't used Standard or Blue Streak in a lot of years but I know they used to be good stuff. Ecklin from NAPA was good also. Looks like the OP needs to buy from Rock Auto though.
