Gone , as in "needing an overhaul ?"
Or gone , as in completely missing ?
According to the Hollander , the only engines that will "bolt in " to this car are 1957 thru 1960 Olds engines .
Anything else will require modification.

The 350 Chevy engine , as with most post 1965 engines , has two mounts at the sides of the engine block and one mount at the back of the trans.
The 49 thru 64 Olds engine was the opposite , with one mount at the front of the block and two on either side of the bellhousing .
You will have to make motor mount brackets to put a Chevy engine in this Olds . It all depends on your fabrication skills or the depth of your pockets .
It may be better to rebuild the original engine (if you have it .)
If you do decide on the Chevy engine , Then PLEASE keep the hood closed !

You are best off to locate either a 1957-60 371 or a 1959-1961 394 engine in North America and have it shipped over. There is no generic "one engine fits all" for the pre-1966 Oldsmobile. It will only accept an Oldsmobile block and transmission unless you are prepared to make a lot of structural modifications to make a Chevrolet engine fit. (You will likely never get such a major modification approved by the TÜV.) So only original Oldsmobile-made engines fit, there are no "replacement" engine companies.
It is too bad you didn't post this back in August, I knew of a 1957 371 that a friend had and needed to sell that was rebuildable and it sold cheap. Now it is too late, it is gone,
