narrower oil filter housing

I ran into a problem, my oil filter housing sticks out too far and just barely misses the frame, It's 4" wide from block to outside.....too close for comfort. Did Olds make a little narrower parts for tight clearances?

What is that one off of? I've never seen one quite like it. Looks almost like the Toro adapter, but I thought it was angled differently.

You know oddball I think you're right on the money. The short block I picked up had an unknown history but after researching this part I saw a picture of a toro oil filter housing and it was just like the one I have. So either the short block I purchased was out of a toro or someone switched the housing at some time??????

The OP's filter adapter is from a Toronado.

A stock Olds RWD oil filter adapter looks like this.
