I can't identify this part in the vacuum line. It's pointed out by the blue line.

It looks like either a manifold fitting, a distribution piece, or something like that.
Can you post a closer picture (yet still clear)?

This not my engine. I just copied the picture so I would know how to run my vacuum lines on my conversion from 2 barrel to 4 barrel. Looks like some kind of vacuum reduction fitting.

too small a pic and too old a car for me to help, at first I thought it might be the 3 prong tee for the vacuum lines, then I thought it maybe the TCS solenoid but I don't thinkf those were on that engine - I think it is the stablefluffer or the airmixerator

It looks like a one way check valve. Seen them on newer cars but nothing that year. Wondering why it was added now.

This is a picture of a 61 Olds Starfire that's on ebay now. Maybe someone with a Starfire can answer.
