Torker manifold and upper alternator brackett

Hi , can someone help me with this problem. I have tried to bolt up my new stock alternator brackets, stock type alternator (excel 7127-3) and a edelbrock torker manifold and it donīt fit. The upper bracket that should line up with the bolt hole i the manifold isnīt even close to line up. Am I suppost to bend the bracket or what? Doesnt feel good to do that. Alternator on the passanger side. Any ideas whatīs wrong?

Regards Stanley

I had the same problem. I just ran it without the top bolt. Not saying that's the correct way to do it, though.

Me, too.
On an A/C car with the alternator on the driver's side.
It was off a mile! The bracket was short at least an inch.
I extended it by "migging" a piece the same thickness and drilled the extension where I needed the hole.
I dressed it up and painted it. If you didn't know, it looks like factory.

On my '71, I only run the main bracket (like the '72). if you decide to use both pcs., do what Ed says and modify to fit, please don't try to bend it.

I had to do the same as far as welding an additional inch or so to that bracket where it mounts to the intake. A little grinding and krylon and nobody would know the difference.
