Timing Chain sets

Needing to purchase a new timing gear set. Everyone is out of the cloyes set. Thoughts on comp cam sets or auto zone sells a set from SA. Thoughts and opinions please.

I got the Comp Cams 2113 double roller timing set in the spare 455 I had built. It works great. I had the machinist assemble the short block and I assembled it the rest of the way.

If you are just looking for a stock set the SA Gear one will be fine. They are one of the larger manufacturers. I think I might have a Cloyes set if you can wait but SA should be fine.

You want a good one or just an average 3 keyway?

On the double roller sets is there any problem with clearance on your fuel pump lobe?

I've always ran a mechanical fuel pump and I never had a problem with the eccentric activating the pump or interfering with the timing chain.
