Suggestions for engine builder in Missouri
#2
If you're in the Kansas City area, consider Mann Speed Speciality. Don Mann used to race Oldsmobiles back in 60s & 70s and kicked butt and took numbers. His two sons run the shop now: Eric (cylinder heads) and Dana for engine building. They know Olds engines..

Scott,
I had my engine built by MBJ Machine in Granite City, IL. The owner is Jim Moran and he has experience with the Olds engine. I don't know if he will do it or not because the last time I talked to him he was considering retiring.
He did a great job on mine. I built a strictly street engine and I am very happy with the results. Here is his number 618-797-1843. Here is a link to some Youtube videos of me redoing my engine. It was the first time I attempted this so don't expect professional results.

I bought a motor from a member on here back in sept. that mann speed done in kc.they milled the top of the pistons .050 to lower the comp. instead of putting a thicker head gasket on it.Now I'm going to spend $400 dollars to get the comp. back up.
