routing cooling 455

Hello, I put an olds 455 engine from 1970 in my '79 TransAm.
Can anyone help me out how I need to route my coolingwater tubes.
I mean from where to where do they need to go. The main problem is whereto does the return from the heater need to go. Thanks, Peter

From the water pump to the heater core inlet; from the heater core outlet to the passenger side crossover in the back of the intake manifold, there should be a cut-off valve on the threaded pipe which screws into the bung in the crossover. Otherwise you will have a constant flow of water through the heater core. I am not familiar with the heater core inlet and outlet placement on a Pontiac TA so you might have some clearance issues but good luck. Also the heater control may not be vacumm operated as the one on the 455 is, but actually you might be able to use the Pontiac one if it has the same diameter on the outlet which would have to fit onto the manifold bung for the engine, or you might be able to fit an adapter to it.
