Reputable engine builder/ installer in MS

I have a 1972 cutlass supreme with a olds 350 engine and th350 transmission. The car is a head turner but I have wanted to swap the olds 350 out for a olds 455. A couple of shops said that I need to go with a chevy 454 due to the availability of parts. Do anyone know of a good engine shop near Biloxi, MS that can do the engine swap?

Stay away from the shops recommending the 454 Chevy. Nothing wrong with the 454 but they don't know anything about an Olds 455 and it is a much easier swap.

You need to do research. Whenever I have a project I try to plan out everything. Do you have a engine yet? Sounds like you're looking for a shop to take/drive your car to, then pickup when done.

Yes I would like to find maybe a 455 crate engine, have it shipped directly to the shop if the shop can not order me one then just drop off the car and pick it up when done. I have found a couple of shops online that have 455 crate engines in stock for around $10k, that does seem a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for just not trying to get ripped off too bad lol.

$10K for a crate motor is nuts, unless your getting an all out Olds engine. Google for a Olds crate engine or go to places like J&S or Bill at BTR. Hell for that much money I could build an engine with a billet crank and more.

I can guarantee you you'll pay at least 10K for a build from BTR if it's dynoed and makes any power at all.
And a billet crank will run you 2K alone. With that you'll have over 3K just in the rotating assembly. From there you can skimp if you want but that doesn't make sense if you're spending that much on a crank alone.
