Radiator/fan choice

Radiator/fan choice
I am nearing getting my core support installed. I know this has been beat on before.
I have a 455 installed with a TH400 71 Cutlass S non AC. Looking for what radiator set up and fan set up would be a good option
While still using stock radiator cover

Why not just go with stock replacement setup or the new parts equivalents thereof? you can install a 2-row aluminum radiator, 5 or 6 blade fan and a thermal fan clutch all along with a stock shroud. Simple and well proven combo for the average street cruiser

Many choices, some of which are OEM replacement fit. Cold Case is a great choice, as is this from Auto City: 1968-1972 GM A-Body Aluminum Radiator (autocityclassic.com)
many prior threads on this topic, should be an easy search for more info - Summit, Ebay, probably numerous actual online radiator suppliers should all be good potential sources for pricing and availability

I have a Be-Cool radiator and stock 7 blade fan with thermal clutch. With the A/C on, idling in traffic, it might get to 200 degrees. It’s hard to beat factory engineering.

I don't think this would be as hard as you believe - your swap could be as simple as a drop-in without replacing the top plate, or possibly as difficult as swapping the radiator cushion pads (from the narrow 2-core to wider 4-core type)
my Cold Case rad was a drop-in without mods. Fits fine under my original top plate - '72 350 w/air. No fan or shroud-mounting related clearance issues. I'm running a 7-blade fan (from '76 Corvette a/c 350) and a thermal clutch as well.

Yes - I bought mine a few years back and performs flawlessly. I run a 180* Mr. Gasket performance t-stat and on the warmest FL days the highest my engine temp may go is between 190-200 at extended idle.

That Autocity radiator is a gorgeous radiator for the price. I bought the 4 core saddles from Thornton for the install. Some of us had issues with those Mr Gasket high flow thermostat shutting closed at highway speeds. I use the Robert Shaw thermostat, which looks the same.
