Quick (?) Cam ID Question
Quick (?) Cam ID Question
Tearing down a 425 - found a low-mile non-GM cam and lifters in it.
Cast-in letters "CWC" on the front end, just before bearing #1, stamped "1643" on the rear face.
I don't intend to use this cam, but I was curious if it could be identified.
Thanks,
- Eric

I remember this coming up in another site . I belive cwc was the company who cast the cam blanks. I think i have a o.e. olds cam that has that same cwc in it . Which is why i think i looked this topic up before on some other site.
Yeah - sounds familiar.
This isn't a GM cam though, because it doesn't have the usual grind markings on the front face.
I'm just curious what the previous owner did - looks like he did a good job on the top end, but used the wrong compression rings in the pistons
