pulleys

Pulley confusion I don''t want to steel your thread but does anyone know if I have to replace all pulleys to change from long water pump to short water pump Any-one know what water pump pulley (2 groove) would fit???

FYI, that thread was a decade old. Tell you what, here's your own shiny new thread on the the topic.

Yes. The pump, pulleys, and accessory brackets need to be kept together as a matched set. Why don't you just get the correct length water pump to match your existing pulleys, brackets, etc? That's going to be MUCH easier in the long run.

While we're discussing pulleys........are the pulleys interchangeable between a 403 and 455?

The pulleys go with the water pump and accessory brackets, period. The front of every 1964-1990 Olds block is dimensionally identical. Yes, I'm aware that the BBOs require brackets with a second hole to accommodate the extra inch of deck height.

Thanks Joe. I'll need to look at the brackets. That was really my question, but I brain-farted pulleys instead.
