about the only thing the same between them is their displacement. parts are unique to each marque. they share the same transmission to engine bolt pattern, too.

For Power, Buick 455...short(er) stroke big bore. Nothing is interchangeable except maybe the alternator and transmission

For even BETTER power, Olds 425. Again, big bore, short stroke, forged crank.

Displacement and transmission are about the only common things. Even the displacement is not exactly the same, but 455 sounds so cool...

They are all entirely different. different shapes sizes, and designs.

In nerd speak a Buick 455 is actually a 455.72589xxxxxxx
Pontiac 455.57425xxxxxxx
and Oldsmobile 454.59877xxxxxx

They all work great for their original purpose, moving around huge land barge automobiles. To make them strong enough to hotrod and beat on you need to throw huge amounts of money at them to make them hold up.
