Please, please , please post pics! I'm trying to work it out on my end to fund this new intake and carb combo. I have a special request....please take a close up pic of the intake port with a gasket lined up to it so I can get an idea of how large the ports are compared to the gaskets. My heads match exactly to a fel pro 1356. The ports on my Torker are close to the 1356, but the intake was cut too far at the machine shop to compensate for the block and head work. The Performer that I have installed temporary to keep the car going has small ports compared to the 1356 gasket.

I put that same cam in my buddys 455 Olds powered T/A. He goes to alot of shows, people come from 100 yards away to ask what's in it. It runs well, let's just put it like that.
His is stock Edelbrock headed, Performer intake, 870 Holley, 3.90 gears.
I'm pretty sure 65W30 will be happy with it. Needs to be degreed and have 10.0:1 though.

[QUOTE=panos;302202]Hmmm ,now that i have the intake manifold out waiting for my stuff maybe i should order one of those,i think it should run good with my combo.[/QUOTE)
It would be perfect for your combo, just make sure you still cut the center divider.

guy gets a new intake and mark wants him to cut it up your like that little green guy on flintstone's mr kazoo . realy what or why ? and dont you think if that is or was needed edlbrock would have done that? The pp intake has the center cut? Is there a old school formula on doing this
i have read on some intake's like pontiac that it can hurt if done ??? I got a artical were mondello put a turtle in a intake tested back to back and was worse than the no turtle ? Thanks

It all has to do with plenum volume and balance. If Panos had a 950 on his 455 then I'd say leave it alone. But he doesn't, he has an 830 and a decent size cam so imo he could use the extra plenum volume and balance, simple as that.
And for the record Edelbrock tries to do thing that help performance, but sometimes casting limitations put a hold on that. Why are some notched and others aren't? Any idea?

So a notch cut, full cut or ? I know from pontiac intake stuff they cut the back half of the intake to work with the big q jet . Does it work with a square bore as well ? The mondello test was a king demon large flange carb. The test was a old car craft if i remember right had a mustang on the cover ,picked it up used said it was a bigolds intake shoot out ended up being two intake test edelbrock vs mondello single plane .

Funny that notch being brought up!
Nephew has a 495 CI stroker, Edelbrock ported head, 11 to 1, roller cammed, 3000 stall 400, 3:55 gear '69 Cutlass street car he shifts @ 5200, with a Torquer, and wonders if it'll work for him!
I suggested the full notch, as his cam is around 295 duration, .585 lift, but couldn't remember the reason I knew this!
I guess some of the reading I've done sticks in crevises of the brain!?!?!?!

the torquer is a open plenum intake.http://www.google.com/imgres?q=rotax...0&tx=120&ty=91 sorta like a two stroke boost bottle set up Is this what were shooting for on the notch to help feed left ad right on the dual plain intake pontiac guys have been cutting the back half of the intake leaving the primary and saving more throttle response than just cutting the hole thing .
