Olds 455 blue paint

Anybody know if Tamarz is the correct blue for a 455? They say it is. Napa No longer carries anything except the Pontiac blue. Fusic seems to be too dark and Bill Hirsch wants $40 per can.

Bill Hirsch is also too much of a light blue in my opinion. Inline Tube says they carry the closest match. $11 a can but it's not on their web site. You have to call them to order it so it makes me think they're selling someone else's stuff.
The factory documentation I've seen makes the engine paint look like it supposed to be very dark but that's literature so.....
I have seen some pieces that have been protected under brackets and such and it wass definitely darker than the Hirsch stuff.
If you get the stuff from inline tube, post back and let us know what you think unless someone else posts up before that with an opinion on it.

Scott,
Thanks and that is exactly what I am looking for. In my opinion it is correct. I have two cans from my original build in 2006. I believe at the time I did not trust what I saw ending up waisting a can. I thought I was getting that crappy pontiac blue? I believe I ended up going with Fusick or Year one. The color from them was too dark. Did another test spray today witht the tamaraz paint and it was more appealing or correct like your pictures. Thanks for sharing. Very nice car! My Cutlass Supreme is also from Freemont CA. The 350 was also changed out for the 455.

Just be aware that the final color you get will depend on application technique. Use several thin coats and the color will be lighter. One heavy coat and it's darker. I believe this has something to do with the heavy metallic in the paint.

Eastwood makes the correct blue and it is a ceramic high temp paint. It matched perfectly to the remnants of the original blue I found on the valve cover. Product # 51683. A quart costs $27.99 on sale. Reg price $34.99.

The Eastwood product looks too light and too blue. Jensenracing77's photo looks correct for the 455.

The Eastwood blue matches perfectly to the original Olds blue and looks like the pictures by jensenracing77. I am a stickler for factory correctness.
