oil pans

Probably a stupid question but this is the first Oldsmobile I've ever owned, always been Chevy and Chevelle's but here goes, will the oil pan on a mid 70's 350 fit on a 455?

Technically yes. It bolts right on and will work. The difference is that the 455 pans had a baffle at the front if the sump where as most if the 350 pans did not. The baffle was to help keep the long stroke if the 455 from picking the oil back by what is called windage.
