notched valve covers

i have a 1970 cutlass s with a/c im going to put in a 455 do i need to use notched valve covers for it to fit in ?

No, they just give a little more clearance.

X2. I have done it before. They can hit if you put the car under a load but it never hurt anything on the car I had.
