new 455 build

I have a 69 455 with c heads, the plan is to buy a rebuild kit from sealed power(30 over). my question is with the top end of the motor. I would like to see what you guys recommend for cam and intake? also I will be keeping the stock c heads and porting them. I am looking for a aggressive street car/ drag car. will run a 4.10 gear with a auto. I also want to keep rpm under 6k. so best setup for a torque monster?

If you really are a mile high, I'd suggest you have a carb tuned for your altitude. What ever that carb is.

With your goals you'll want full roller rockers with adjustability. Skip the roller tipped rockers and get the real thing. I'd look closely at what Harland Sharp has to offer. I know, you didn't specifically ask for that, but you need to consider it, if you haven't already.

For an intake the Edelbrock RPM might fit your described goal, part#7551. This intake limits you to a square bore carb, Holly or the like, no quadrajets.

An old torker would do it too if you want to keep the quadrajet. Performer might be ok as well, but it sounds like you want to kick it up a notch.

I got nothing on the cam suggestions. That choice right there, might make your intake choice solid.

Don't purchase any rebuild kit until you take the engine apart and see what you have.

If you're doing a drag car then ditch the idea of the Sealed Power pistons. Do the Icons or Wisecos instead, along with Eagle rods.
An 850 carb would be best with a Torker. The RPM will require a larger carb, I'd do a 950 for that.
Cam selection will depend on the rest of your combination, i.e. compression, converter etc. Let me know if I can be of help there.
Thanks.
