Mild 496 build

Looking for help on cam selection for a mild build 496.
Heads will be C or Es upgraded to big valves. Prob mild port polish job and center divider built up. I want 10.25-10.5 compression with Cp or Mahle pistons. Performer rpm air gap or torker intake and demon 850 carb. Help on a hydraulic roller cam is what I'm after. I was thinking 550-575 lift maybe? Anyone got a combo close to this with power numbers?

If you can get the heads flowed that would be best. If they end up flowing better above the number you gave then it would beneficial to open the valve that far. If they don't then obviously not.
Finalize your combo and I'd be glad to help with a custom ground roller cam. Cam and lifters is $725.00 to your door.

Thanks.

Yeah that sounds nice! I don't want to crazy on the heads because if I do then I might as well get edelbrocks. I have Cs I'm getting for $125 bucks and I'd like to get them upgraded to bigger valves with bronze guides and prob a good beehive spring able to handle up to .600 lift. A good valve and decent port and polish job. Hoping I don't get in over my head on these as far as cash flow. I have an unused set of battens as well as a set done by Brandywine but I think that's overboard and I'd have to have custom headers built. This engine is gonna be a stopgap build as my eventual setup is a full NASCAR style HP block batten headed F2 Procharger build.

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to just get the edelbrocks?

Just sayin

If my machine shop can do it all for less than 1k for me then I'll have the Cs worked. If it's over 1K I'll prob just get Edelbrocks.

I know this is a question everyone will ask...
but what are your plans for the car? Do you have a # you want to run?

Remember spending $800 bucks on C's just means that your eventual purchase of Edelbrocks or better just cost you $800 more.

This engine is going to be an in between motor. I'm putting this one together so I can get the car on the road. It currently has a 502 BBC that I want gone! The car is currently drag only but it's going into the body shop next month for paint and I want it back on the street and want true olds power till I buil my serious street strip NASCAR engine!

X2. Just get the Edelbrocks, or even Procomps. Don't waste your money on the stock irons.
