Lower Radiator Hose Spring?

Do I need a lower radiator hose spring on 65 Starfire?

Is your radiator hose collapsing? If not, then no.

The newer hoses are made so they supposedly don't need the spring. I was skeptical but have had no problems.

If it is a molded hose I'd put a spring in there no matter what they say.
