Looking for a "dashpot"

Hello everyone, I'm attempting to correct an issue with my 69 442 that has a tendicy to die after coming to a complete stop when eng is hot.
One issue that I've found is that the "dashpot"as listed in the CSM page 476 diagram #14. The end seems to be broken off of mine making it unable to adjust.
Do any of you folks know where I may be able to locate this item and can anyone explain the purpose of this item.
Thanks in advance for your help

The dashpot is simply a pneumatic shock absorber that prevents the carb throttle plates from slamming shut too quickly when you release the accelerator.

That's what I thought it might be for and I wanted to be sure.
Do you possibly have any idea where I might find one of these, or maybe a part number.
Thanks for your reply

I'm pretty sure I have a couple nice spares if 70-72 ones are the same. If you'd like, I can check and take pics when I get home from Watkins Glen on Monday.

I can also accommodate your needs if you prefer a very clean/restored dashpot, replated mounting bracket, bracket to intake bolt, etc.

These pieces were not rusty/crusty parts prior to restoration.

Maybe not as low cost as nice used unrestored pieces that Terry (Vette442) probably has but it's another option. PM me if you have interest (include an email address if you want pics)
