Looking for cam recommendations for a 425 olds...
So a buddy and I just took apart the 425 olds in my 67 cutlass and this is what I’ve gathered so far..
66 425 block std bore with the .842 lifters, stock large valve c heads 2.07 intake valve, torker intake, 750 mech Holley carb.
car has th350, 2500 stall, and 3.08 gears.
looking for cam recommendations to give it a lil more kick in the pants and a little bit of that rumpity rump.
I just really don’t know what the max lift is with those non adjustable rocker arms and I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction here.
thank you!

Get rid of the Torker and find a used Performer.
Stock rockers will go to about .500 lift but I’d opt for an adjustable rocker setup as you’ll probably need to change pushrods anyway.
An Erson Hi Flow 1 would be good if you’re at or near 10.0:1. Specs are 228/228@.050 with .500 lift on both.
Hope this helps.

Are you sure it's a 1966 block but has 1967 C heads? 1966 425s had B heads and are 45 degree camshaft angle with the. .842 lifters. I've had seven 1967 425 with C heads, all were 39° camshaft. I'd check it closely.
Here's a thread on checking 45 vs 39. Everyone has their own way, similar but different, I use a square and a straight rule in the lifter bore.

just looking for something with an idle with a little rumpity rump to it and to run on premium pump gas still. Not opposed to throwing in a couple gallons of 110 in it either if needed.
67 cutlass with th350, 2500 stall, 3.42 gears.
I'd take Mark, cutlassefi's cam recommendation. I actually had the same/similar camshaft in a std. bore 455. It was an Erson TQ 40, I believe, around 18 years ago. I don't like taking a "street" engine over 5k rpm's. Will it rev higher? Absolutely, but why? Torque is dropping off, standard iron heads are about maxed out, stock rods are nearing safe limits. I liked the Erson camshaft. One reason I used it was because I used stock bridges and rockers. I did use 3/8ths standard length, black anodized, hardened pushrods. I didn't open anything up, just stuck them in, no rubbing anywhere. I had G-heads. Get both Mondello's and Travado's "Oldsmobile V-8s." Just ignore Joe Mondello's oiling tricks, he does give a lot of assembly info. Travado's has lots of advice and knowledge but he's doesn't go into assembly, imo. Watch his YouTube Oldsmobile build, especially about the 460 ford rear main seal installation. Bills parts are top of the line. Read the assembly/builds threads in this forum. Good luck.
