Okay guys here is a dumb question but one that I need help with. Since I did not dismantle the car but am stuck putting it back together.....

I'd like to know what options I have for mounting the ignition coil on a 69 442 vert with a manual trans. and 400 engine. I have seen some pics that have it mounted next to the distributor and some on the left rear ear of the block between the firewall and engine. I held it in place on the 2nd location but it is extremely tight at this location. Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated

It should be bolted to the intake manifold to the right of the distributor.

There's a good picture of it in the Assembly Manual.
