intakes.

hi , and thanks to all in advance for your input,i have a starfire that i am restoring,and i am thinking ahead on the engine , what i would like input on ,would be ,if i should stick with my original intake,and use a spacer maybe, with my original carb ,or go with an aluminum intake, with a new car , looking for sugestions,and any good combo,s any one may have ,oh car is 65 starfire ,425 engine, ok, thanks again ,bill

I'm really happy with the Edelbrock carb/intake on my 67. It is the Performer series.

I have pics in my gallery.

I am also satisfied with my edelbrok performer intake and holley 750 carb, on my '65 425

thanks again for the reply,s ,with the performer intake and 750 carb,was it also a stock cam , or somthing different? thanks bill.

I have the Edelbrock cam, part #2152. I don't think this cam will fit pre-67 Olds. You may have to look for a custom grind for your head angle.

I also am running the 750cfm Edelbrock carb w/auto choke. I'm an old 'Carter' guy and prefer the tuning process.

I have a Performer on a 400 with a stock cam & a Quadrajet. I found that when I switched intakes it pulled much stronger in the mid-range up to the red line.

Stock cam, stock everything on the motor. It now has the dual s-manifold on it. I think it is a pretty good setup, I just need to get it tuned it runs a litlle to rich
