Holley Carb Rebuild
Holley Carb Rebuild
Well I go my carb rebuild kit for the Holley 4165 spreadbore I have. But what I don't have are instructions!
So does any one have some they can post or scan and email me? Never rebuilt a car carb just some of my motorcycle ones. I have no worries in my doing it just need directions for guidance. Would like to tack this tomorrow before work. Also any tips/tricks are welcome as well!

I would say the instructions are just for the settings. The rebuild is straight forward and less linkages than a rochester. Some Holleys have idle mixture screws that go rich when they are turned in. Usually turning in the screws leans it out...
If yours is the same as mine (6497 spreadbore, mechanical secondaries)make sure you set the float level
I didn't & it was dumping fuel in. It was an easy fix but it's a lot easier to do when it's on a bench

One nice thing about a lot of Holley carbs is that float adjustment can be made with engine running and bowl sight plugs removed.
Well mine is not that nice as it has not bowl sight plugs! Got here apart today and currently soaking in a PIne Sol bath for the night. Wasn't real dirty but found some shiny grit in the front fuel bowl. Found one broken plate guide pin. Some pics in my MAW thread. Wasn't too bad we'll see how the degreasing/clean go tomorrow. ;-)
