Any recomendations on size for a 455, edelbrock heads out of the box, performer intake, 800 quadrajet, lunati 60803, turbo 400. 3.42 gears, 9.7 compression, street car?? 455 engine and frame mounts. Thanks

I like my Hooker 1 7/8" headers. They fit up snug to the trans crossmember, and don't hang down real low to the ground.I bought mine directly from Jet-Hot.They ordered the headers from Hooker, coated thenm in & out, then shipped them to me.
There was a compnay selling some stainless headers on ebay for real cheap, but there hasn't been too much feedback from the public,as far as fit & quality go.

Hah!! I ordered a set of those. Driver side looked great, however, the passenger side on the #6 and #8 tubes were kinked. #6 was to get the bolt in, (which I still couldn't see how) and the #8 was kinked for clearance for the #6 tube. Anyways, I havn't mounted them and I am sending them back. I'll check out the Hooker 1 7/8". The Hedmans I had to kink for the starter, oil filter, and steering shaft. Besides hanging to low.
Check out the pic's on the stainless ones. To bad, they could have been nice.
The kinks aren't as bad as the pic's show. But.......

I run an IMI mini starter, but I have also run a stock Delco starter. The stock starter fit fine, but didn't spin the motor over as fast as the mini starter.

Sorry to hear about those stainless headers.I know the tubes need to be dimpled to get the bolts in,but not dented like that.I don't blame you for sending those back.

I have a new IMI mini starter sitting in the box ready for the winter projects like this. And yes (thanks) the stock high torque starter I have always has seemed slow.
